We will start a new practice MCAS passage today. It's a narrative writing task like the one we did for "11" and "All Summer In a Day."

In social studies we will learn about the role of the pharaoh and a few of Egypt's greatest leaders. We will also work on the Nile songs

Explain the key accomplishments of Khufu, Ramses II, and Hatshepshut

Explain the importance of the Nile River to the people of ancient Egypt.

Explain the importance of the Rosetta Stone to the decipherment of Egyptian writing.

Explain the importance of the Egyptian belief in an afterlife and how these beliefs impacted life.
